Will We Beat the Rain?

I was off and on about banding today. Forecasts were all over the place from different sites. Some saying rain at 8, some saying 2. Decided to go. Despite the time change, folks should have forgotten and arrived early. However, they all arrived late. Except me. 5:15 in the damp and stirring breeze to set up. The day was fairly slow to start, as expected with overnight rains blanketing the foliage with water. Eventually, birds began to move a bit more than last week and we ended up with a nice variety of species by the end of the morning. Always hard to adjust to a time change. The birds don't care so they moved as they always do.

Black-throated Blues were late this year. Hoping for Indigo Buntings to come soon.

3 weeks on the schedule before we wrap for the holidays. Sunday looks to be nice next week.
