Catbirds are Restless

Another chilly start but it is a bit heart warming to have Jenny back in the fold.

We caught 5 Gray Catbirds today and many more were heard around across the property.

Carolina Wrens are also moving about and we caught one new bird and a recapture.

What day could not be complete without a nice vice grip of a Northern Cardinal bite? This recatured female reminded us.

Yet another cold front is moving through. Rain chances are forecast through next Sunday and throughout the next week. Next banding day is scheduled for Valentine's Day. Sleep in and enjoy a soggy Super Bowl

Today's Totals

Birds Processed New Recaptured Total
Gray Catbird 2 3 5
Northern Cardinal 0 1 1
Carolina Wren 1 1 2
Totals 3 5 8

NOTE: To ensure the safety of our volunteers and the general public, new visitors are discouraged from attending banding at this time. The few of us who remain will update the blog as long as we can and hope to see new faces in the future. Thank you for your understanding during this unprecedented time.
